Debit Advantage®

Debit Advantage® consists of two distinct benefits: Buyer's Protection and Extended Warranty.

Buyer's Protection: covers items you buy with your Secure Checking account for 90 days from the date of purchase against accidental breakage or theft.

Extended Warranty: extends U.S. manufacturer's original written warranty up to one full year on most new retail purchases.  The item's original warranty must be less than five years to qualify for Extended Warranty coverage.  Item(s) must be purchased entirely with a Secure Checking account.  Restrictions apply.

AD&D Insurance

Secure Checking account holders receive up to $10,000 of 24-hour Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) insurance coverage.  Coverage is divided equally among joint account holders.  Coverage is reduced to 50% at age 70.

Conversion FAQs

Q.  When does the Secure Checking conversion take place?
A.  Current MemberFocus Community Credit Union checking account holders will be transitioned into Secure Checking on July 1, 2018.

Q.  When can I start using the new benefits?
A.  You will have access to all of these valuable benefits as of July 1, 2018.  Your Cell Phone Protection, Identity Theft Expense Reimbursement, Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance, and Debit advantage are automatically effective July 1, 2018.  Other benefits require activation before they take effect.
Q. Will I have a new checking account number?
A.  No, your checking account number remains the same.
Q.  Do I have to contact MemberFocus regarding recurring automatic withdrawal or deposit arrangements?
A.  No, it is not necessary to make any changes since your checking account number will remain the same.

Q.  Will I receive new checks or a new debit card?
A.  No, you will not be sent new checks or a new debit card since your checking account number will remain the same?

Q.  Will I have to set up new online or mobile banking access?
A.  No, your online and mobile banking access will not be affected by the Secure Checking conversion.

1. Courtesy Pay is an additional form of overdraft protection that is available for eligible members, 90 days after checking account opening.
2. Online and mobile Bill Pay are free services for credit union members enrolled in eStatements.  There is a $4.95/month fee for Bill Pay for members enrolled in paper statements.
3. IDProtect® service is a personal identity theft protection service available to personal checking account owners, their joint account owners, and their eligible family members (service not available to employees or authorized signers who are not owners).  Service is not available to a "signer" on the account who is not an account owner.  Service is not available to clubs, organizations, and/or churches and their members, schools and their employees/students.  For revocable grantor trusts, the service is available only when a grantor is serving as a trustee and covers the grantor trustee(s) and their eligible family members.  For all other fiduciary accounts, the service covers the beneficiary, who must be the primary member, and their eligible family members (fiduciary is not covered).  Family includes: spouse, persons qualifying as domestic partner, and children under 25 years of age and parent(s) of the account holder who are residents of the same household.
4. Credit file monitoring may take several days to begin following activation.
